A Darwin crocodile scientist says there is a risk the Northern Territory
Government's promise to create a 50 kilometre crocodile exclusion zone around
the city will lull the public into a false sense of security.
It had been billed as the "Loch Alexander monster" - a giant fish that had
bitten an unsuspecting woman on the foot and forced the closure of a popular
swimming spot in Darwin.
It "beggars belief" that Alice Springs Town Council has proposed to fine people
for begging, the Northern Territory Chief Minister, Paul Henderson, says.
