Australia shares end at fresh one-year high

Australian stocks rose 1 percent to close at their highest level in more than a year on Wednesday, led by banks and mining giant Rio Tinto (ASX: RIO.ax) , which extended gains after a positive production report.
The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index .AXJO gained 45.4 points to close at 4,831.1, according to the latest data, adding to a 1 percent rise on Tuesday.
